Ford’s Sync to Go Global

Ford SyncThe voice activated information service of Ford Motor Co., Sync is scheduled to go global starting 2010 in Europe.

The Sync, powered by Microsoft technology, will be available in 7 European languages. The automaker also plans to release it in the Asia Pacific Region and in Australia.

To boot the 2010 expansion, Sync is getting some upgrade with the capabilities of getting real time traffic updates. The company promises the continuous effort to develop the technology of interconnectivity for the consumers. The Sync system allows the driver of a car to connect to their cell phones and to the internet.

The Sync broke ground with Ford in 2007 when it was introduced as a tool to access phones and music player hands free. Sales reports have shown that vehicles with Sync roll of the show room faster than those without the system. Ford is aiming for a million of units sold by the third quarter of 2009.
