Toyota Is Getting Hit … Hard.
Toyota has had a rough year and we are only at the end of month two! With the 8 million vehicles being recalled though, this particular company has had quite the time keeping their customers and this month showed it. In January, the company was hit hard by their customers and now – now in February, they are actually hit a lot harder.
More and most customers are losing their faith in Toyota and honestly, that is hurting them a lot. While the news may not be new, Toyota is still one of the top automakers in the world right now … they are just hitting a bad spot is all.
Here is hoping that Toyota is going to be able to recover in March and that the top automaker is going to keep its spot!
Ford Boosts Production Of F-150, Escape: Thanks To C4C!
Ford is one of the only automakers that has not only one that has lasted through all of the bankruptcy times and now – now, they are certainly churning out some of the quality products. Cash for Clunkers is certainly a program that has churned out a profit for Ford and I think that is actually awesome. August sales for Ford have been at their highest for the year and that is truly incredible.
However, there are two trucks actually that have jumped up in sales. The F-150 as well as the Escape are two trucks that have sky-rocketed in the sales department, which has sent production into overtime … which means that more jobs and more jobs are going to be created and calling back, which is fantastic!
Right now, 10,000 units are needed for the F-150’s, which is great and truly puts the workers back up to full-time!
UAW Talks With Ford: The Latest!
The automotive industry is one of those industries nowadays that is very hard to live with and definitely hard to read about. I know that whenever I am looking for some research to keep you guys up to date, it is very depressing. However, we are not going to touch on GM in this post, we are going to touch on the UAW union and how they are talking with Ford right now. We all know that Ford is reorganizing their funds and the UAW wants to make sure that they are taken care of as well.
The UAW VP Bob King actually told reporters that he is always in meetings with Ford and while Ford was the only one of the big three to avoid bankruptcy, which does not mean that their sales are not down as well. However, this does not mean that the UAW is going to strike either. The UAW is just talking with Ford about their contract and looking to make some changes to it.
Nothing has become official yet, so don’t quote me! Stay tuned for more news though!
