Shelby EXP500 CSS “Black Hornet” Auctioned for Charity
American racing and automotive designer Carroll Shelby is auctioning a 1968 Mustang, known as the Shelby EXP500 CSS
“Black Hornet” for charity this December.
The Black Hornet is an amazing tribute to the “Green Hornet” that Shelby used to test the then ground breaking technologies of the 1960s. In partnership with Restoration Hardware, Shelby is challenging all car enthusiasts to participate in the online car auction that runs from December 2-12, 2008. The Black Hornet bidding starts at $100,000.
Three-quarters of the Black Hornet sale will be given to the Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation, which helps children suffering from life-threatening illnesses around the world, and also promote the donations of organs and tissues.
